Leeds United are reportedly close to signing young forward Silva Mexes from Manchester United as part of their ongoing efforts to bolster the club's youth development. The 16-year-old, who is the son of former Wales international Robert Earnshaw, has been promised a professional contract when he turns 17 in March next year. This move follows the recent acquisition of Serbian midfielder Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher, who joined Leeds United in February and has already made a mark at the Under-21 level. Mexes, who has been with Manchester United since the age of 14, struggled to break into the U18 setup last season but is now set to make the switch to West Yorkshire. Leeds United's chairman, Paraag Marathe, emphasized the importance of developing young talent for the club's sustainability and competitiveness in the Premier League. He stated that the club must focus on nurturing players through their academy and strategic signings. With young talents like Jayden Lienou and Harry Gray also in the mix, Leeds United is committed to building a strong foundation for the future.
