Leeds United's transfer saga continues with Troy Parrott's potential move to the club. The international striker's form for AZ Alkmaar has earned him admirers, and Andy Townsend believes Leeds would be a great fit for him. Parrott has been linked with a move to Leeds for over a year, but it seems that this summer could be the perfect time for him to join the club. With his continued good form and goal-scoring, Parrott is set to bring him back to England, and a number of teams are waiting to see what develops with the 24-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate. Speaking about the next steps for the Irishman, former Republic of Ireland midfielder Andy Townsend believes Leeds would be a great fit for Parrott, as a club where he would get the most game time and have a chance to make an impact on the Premier League. He said; "I think Troy Parrott would be a good fit for Everton or Leeds. He could go in there and score his quota of goals. I think what's really key for Troy is that he continues to play every week and keep hitting his targets. "I think that's really important because he is a poacher-type striker rather than a runner. Troy is the sort of boy that comes alive when he senses there's a goal for him. And I think that it is very important for the national team that Troy continues to be amongst the goals on a regular basis. "So I think Troy's got to be a little bit careful. If I was him, I wouldn't go anywhere and be prepared to play second fiddle and play 15 or 18 games a season. "I wouldn't do any of that if I was him. I think he's the sort of player that needs to play on a regular basis, needs to be scoring his quota, and he will always get his quota of goals if he's given the opportunities." Andy Townsend was speaking to OLBG.
