Leeds United are pushing for late transfer business as the summer window enters its final week, with Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk and Feyenoord's Igor Paixao among their targets. Manager Daniel Farke has said he is 'cautiously optimistic' about adding to his squad before the deadline passes.
Mudryk loan pursuit
The club have made a loan offer for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk as they seek to strengthen their left-sided attacking options. That initial proposal was turned down by the London club, who are understood to prefer the Ukrainian international joins their sister club Strasbourg. However, the player himself is believed to be open to a move to Elland Road, with a preference to stay in the Premier League.
Paixao interest continues
Interest also remains in Brazilian forward Igor Paixao, though no concrete progress has been made on a deal. Reports had suggested Sunderland had reached an agreement with the player, but those claims have been denied, leaving the situation open. The 26-year-old, who plays for Feyenoord, could still be a target for Premier League clubs in the coming days.
Goalkeeper search
Leeds are also looking to add depth in goal, with Eintracht Frankfurt's Michael Zetterer a player of interest. Any move for the experienced German goalkeeper is dependent on his current club finding a replacement, and could also affect the future of current backup Lucas Perri.
Farke's side have started the season strongly, winning both of their opening matches in all competitions without conceding a goal. The transfer window closes in six days, setting up a period of intense activity at Thorp Arch.
