Daniel James has returned to training and could feature for Leeds United against Manchester United this Sunday. Manager Daniel Farke delivered the news alongside an update on the still-absent Joe Rodon during his pre-match press conference.

James missed the last two matches for club and country with a back issue but was back on the pitch with the squad on Friday. Farke stated there is a chance the winger could be involved in the Premier League fixture at Elland Road, which kicks off at 14:00 BST.

"Since yesterday, he's back on the pitch with us," Farke said. "Right now, we have to wait to see how his body reacts but at least good news with him that he's back in training and he seems to be improving."

Rodon's recovery continues

Defender Joe Rodon, however, will miss the game as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained almost two months ago. Farke initially estimated an eight to ten-week absence, and Rodon is now in week seven of his rehab. The manager said the player is making good progress but has not yet returned to team training, adding that Rodon has been desperate to return and would play with 'one leg' if possible. Leeds, currently seventh in the Premier League with nine points from six games, face a Manchester United side sitting 13th. The Whites' recent form, shows they have scored 12 goals in that period. The last meeting between the sides in August ended in a 1-1 draw.

Farke on Carrick and favourites tag

Farke used the conference to praise opposite number Michael Carrick, dismissing criticism of the Manchester United boss. Farke stated, describing himself jokingly as 'half-British' in his support for young British coaches.

He also downplayed any suggestion that Leeds are favourites for the derby, citing the quality in United's squad. When asked about ending a 24-year wait for a Premier League home win over their rivals, Farke referenced his mantra and a musical legend.

"Actions first was always my mantra instead of speaking too much beforehand," he said. "Like the king says, a little less conversation, a little more action."

The match will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.
