Leeds United face Newcastle United at Elland Road on Monday night in a Premier League meeting of two unbeaten sides. The fixture kicks off at 8pm under the lights for the first home night game of the 2026/27 league season.
Daniel Farke's side are 10th in the table with five points from three matches, the same total as their visitors who sit one place higher. Leeds have drawn their last two league games, including a 1-1 result at Brighton last weekend where Jayden Bogle scored. Their most recent outing was a 6-3 defeat at Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, where Tarik Muharemović, Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all found the net.
Form and focus
Leeds have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League games, a run stretching back to mid-March. Only two other top-flight clubs can match that record. After the Brighton draw, manager Daniel Farke said his team played "with confidence" and were "much more settled now".
Defender Tarik Muharemović, who scored his first Leeds goal in midweek, is ready for the challenge. "A hard game, like always," he said. "We have to be ready, especially after a game on Wednesday. We are preparing already for the next steps. We want these three points."
He added the squad is focused on finishing their home schedule before the international break strongly. "We want to finish the last two home games in the best mode before the international break. So, yeah, full focus on that."
Opposition and absences
Newcastle, under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, have scored twice in each of their first three league games. They have conceded four goals despite facing a division-high 61 shots. The previous meeting at Elland Road last season ended 0-0, while the return fixture at St James' Park was a seven-goal thriller won late by Harvey Barnes.
Leeds will be without the injured Joe Rodon, while Mateo Joseph is also sidelined. The rest of the squad is available for selection. Fans can check the full team news and updated squad list ahead of kick-off.
Matchday information
Due to the ongoing West Stand redevelopment, away supporters must use the main West Stand Gate on Elland Road as their sole entry point. Some home fans in specific sections will also use this gate when the away allocation is not full.
Before the game, the club's United in Support matchday hub will be in place outside the Centenary Pavilion as part of the Premier League's Together Against Suicide initiative. The hub will operate for every home match between 4th and 14th September.
Leeds United's next fixture is at home to Newcastle United on Monday, 14 September.
