Leeds United is set to end a 29-year wait to play in the USA with a pre-season tour. The club will face Wrexham at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on July 25. This will be the first time a Leeds United side has played in America since 1997. John Myers, a Leeds United fan from Tampa, has been instrumental in organizing the event. He set up a Facebook group for fellow fans six years ago, which has grown to over 320 members. The group includes fans from the Tampa Bay area, as well as from Sarasota, Miami, and other parts of the country. Myers has also welcomed club legend Stuart Dallas to a fan meet-up event, where supporters could get a Leeds badge printed onto their Guinness. Leeds United has hinted at similar types of activities over the course of their pre-season tour, with the chance to meet fans who are otherwise supporting from afar. With a World Cup on the horizon, it's set to be an exciting summer for those US-based supporters like Myers and his Tampa Bay peers.
